Here’s what I did:

1. Exported my Firefox bookmarks,
2. Edited the list with Dreamweaver (so that I add only the ones I want),
3. Imported the .html file to my newly created Delicious account,
4. Viewed the rss feed for my account:
   http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/yourname?count=100
5. Added the url to:
   http://directoryname.com/admin/dir_links_importrss.php
6. Submitted to PHPLD as inactive links because i had to distribute them to categoires first.

Voila! And there you have it.

Last few months didn’t work out well for me – I had some nasty health problems, so I’m starting out again, pretty much. So, today I decided to try out something new. Got sick of promoting weight loss pills.

About a month before getting “sick” I got invited to join a new affiliate program with rather different products. It consists mainly of make money online guides. Some other are PPC statistics and so on..

I picked out one of them – EasyCashBlogging.com. To cut a long story short I prepared my affiliate link and went on to promote it at StumbleUpon.

As we all know “blogging”, “make money online” and similiar keywords have been quite the hit in the past years. It was no surprise to get 80 hits in the first 5 minutes.

However I forgot to take one simple fact into account.

Online money making opportunities have their downsides – spam sites, scams and phishing. And that is why the first review that my stumble received, surprised me a bit.

I don’t know if it’s satire or what, but the site design is enough to push me away, let alone the BS subject matter.

And where is the BS (bullshit) exactly?

On the page of a 20 dollar guide to blogs there is nothing but,

1. money back guarantee;
2. few tips to get you started.

But let’s not get on with it, since there are purely weird people in the US. Especially on the internet.

The question is – IS IT A SCAM?

I have not ordered the book, so I’m not a client.

But as an affiliate I can give you some details on how exactly affiliate networks work.

Here are some of the things to take in mind, before marking a sales page as scam.

• Before connecting to the network, the product site/company works out an agreement with the network,
• There is a product manager appointed for this product at the network,
• Some of the commissions deposited to affiliate accounts are taken back because of the money back guarantee;
  Why return money of it was a scam?
• If the affiliate network becomes affiliated with scam companies they will simply turn against themselfes all of their affiliates; As you might figure this is bad for business.

As a conclusion I can say you could even rate such sites by the affiliate network they are related to.

This site isn’t a scam for sure.

p.s. However, be watchful and check thoroughly such products before purchasing them.

Please Note: This guide talks about content and products from the More Niche affiliate network.

1. Don’t use content rewritting software/sites. There is nothing like original content.
   If, however, you decide to do some rewritting.
   Do it manually. Read, take a break and then write.
   Don’t try to rewrite articles simultaniously. It just doesn’t work out.
2. Write original, creative and useful content.
3. You can either write for a blog (personal experiences, etc) or a review site (much more fun once you get into the role of it).
4. If you are into weight loss it would be good first to do reviews about competitive brands to Proactol, like Phentermine for example.
   Diet pills such as Phentermine are on the market for quite some time, so they have much better traffic from the search engines.
   Make few of those then start writting about Proactol, UniqueHoodia, etc. If you manage your site navigation properly you should convert Phentermine to Proactol traffic.
5. Try to have a routine about writting.
   1 hour per day is a good thing.
   When i was writting more actively I used to get 1 hour earlier and write some stuff before work.
   This way you’ll keep yourself more creative.
6. Read this article  about the breaking through writer’s block.
7. Keep it simple.
   While you won’t enjoy writting 5-page aricles, users won’t have fun reading too long posts on your blog, either.
   A short and informative post works best. Unless you are doing a review of a product.
8. While reviews get traffic, sales copies make the sales.
9. Read-through this guide on copy writting.
10. In the resources area of every product there is a tab called “News, media and scripts”. Choose a product and read through its promotion guides, if it has any.
11. Also, read the MoreNiche copywritting guides. There is some good thinking there.
12. By my oppinion every good e-marketeer is a journalist, author, good person and a sales man.
    Honest and to the point. This is the advertising text that works.
13. SEO always counts. I suggest you first get on with the content and then optimise it.

Introduction to Domain Name Service (DNS)

Before setting up a dns, let’s take a look at the thing itself. The domain name system (DNS) is used to translate your domain name into your host’s IP address. That means that if you type “name.com” thanks to the DNS it will be the same as “077.888.999.011″, the ip address. Enough technical details, onward to the settings!

The steps to setting up a DNS

are as follows:

1. Register a hosting
2. Register a domain
3. Enter the domain control panel
4. Under the dns tab there should be two fields – “dns1″ and “dns2″
5. Copy the two DNS IP’s from the confirmation email for the hosting account
   - or -
   Contact your hosting company and issue the DNS address
6. Return to the domain control panel and fill in the two fields with the corresponding two addresses.

As simple as it gets

below is an example with the Tradeo free web hosting and the .CO.CC free domain registrar.

Tunning up the domain:

1. Login to your .co.cc account
2. Click on “Manage Domain”
3. Expand the “Manage DNS tab”
4. In the field “Name Server 1″ type: ns1.0lx.net
5. In the field “Name Server 2″ type: ns2.0lx.net
6. Click the “Set Up” button.

Adding the domain to your hosting

1. Login to your vista cpanel account (here)
2. Look for the “Domains” category and select “Addon domains” underneath
3. In the “Domain Name” text field fill in your .co.cc domain name
4. Click “Create Domain”
5. Done.

Take notice: DNS changes may take from 24 to 48 hours to update.

Most of the time people build links to their websites, they just tend to go to some blog and start commenting on dialy basis. Or they use spam bots, even worse.

In this case there are two options: 1) 50% of your comments get filtered as spam, because they are just “so good”; 2) They get approved but lack (backlink) value, i.e. you didn’t comment on the right blog.

Finding a blog

All you need is a blog with decent search engine rank and visitors. Or is it? Search engines will always count for high quality links, that come from sites related to your topic. So make sure this blog you choose is relevant to your site.

The domain also counts. Getting a mindable amount of backlinks from an .edu domain is always a good thing. Your site will be considered more useful your average competitors.

Building backlinks

Does that blog has a “recent comments” tab? Make sure you’re always there. Comment on dialy basis.

Comment on pages that are keyword-rich, don’t have more than 20 comments, and have, perhaps, a minimum Page Rank of 0. That means it has been already indexed by Google. If the page is located on a popular blog, then it should rank fine in search engines.

Getting traffic

Leave a comment that stands out. Don’t just say “nice” or “great article”! Be constructive. Be relevant. Be interesting. Most visitors follow links under your names, because of curiosity. You have to provoke them into reading and expecting more to read.

How to do that?

A blog that is less relevant to your site, but closer to your interests is a bigger help rather than the other way around. This way you will be able to leave a comment that includes your personal oppinion, experiences, etc.

Smart commenting really works: if you have to build a PR2 page through blog-commenting you will have at least 100 links pointing to your site. That is really good, but imagine now that each one of those links brings you one or two visitors per day!

Comment with those rules in mind.

Once you’re done with those two steps login to your blog, go to “Settings” and from there to “All In One SEO Pack”. What we’re actually after here is to change the <title> values so that they are more keyword rich and SEO-compatible.

Title Tags

Here is the title syntax we are going to follow:
Website Title | Category > Subcategory - Item

Below you can copy paste those values in your plugin settings:

• Post Title Format: %blog_title% | %category_title% – %post_title%
• Page Title Format: %blog_title% | %page_title%
• Category Title Format: %blog_title% | %category_title%
• Archive Title Format: %blog_title% | %date%
• Tag Title Format: %blog_title% | Tags – %tag%
• Search Title Format: %blog_title% – %search%

Also, check all the “noindex” options below and “Autogenerate Descriptions:”.

SE-friendly URLs

Last thing to do is to tune your URLs to be more Search Engine-friendly. While in the settings section, switch to the “Permalinks” tab. There you will find various options for URL formatting.

By default your link depth shouldn’t be more than 2 steps, which means:
www.root.com/folder1/folder2/

While if you are running WordPress for a blog it’s not a problem to use the default year-date formatting. For any other projects I suggest experimenting with the “Custom Structure” option. It allows you to type-in your variables, thus forming a new URL structure. If you don’t know which ones to use exactly consult with the All In One SEO Pack settings tab.

Here’s what I used for one of my sites:
/products/postname/

Note

Switching to those options takes no more than 10 minutes. And it is always worth to spend some time on improving your site’s structure. Don’t underestimate small settings, because they can make a big difference.

• Create Robots.txt
• Add the following directives:

Disallow: /cgi-bin/
Disallow: /wp-admin/
Disallow: /wp-content/
Disallow: /wp-content/themes/K2RC6/comments-ajax.php
Disallow: /wp-includes/
Disallow: /wp-login.php
Disallow: /wp-login.php?action=register
Disallow: /wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Disallow: /wp-trackback.php


• Generate a Sitemap
• Add your sitemap to the Robots.txt

sitemap: http://money.tradeo.biz/sitemap.xml.gz


Now you will avoid having system pages (like mysql queries/error and logins) indexed by search engines.

If you use affiliate links to monetize your site, add the URL’s to your Robots.txt file. This will keep them usable, but search engine spiders will not be able to follow them, thus, increasing your page value (yes, because you have less outgoing links).
